Organizers, Rabbis: Everybody Come to Peace House Now!!!


(IsraelNN.com) The organizers of the struggle for Peace House in Hevron, including Rabbis Shmuel Eliyahu and Dov Lior, called upon the people of Israel Wednesday evening to stream to the place immediately. Nadia Matar said Wednesday evening that the next 24 hours will be the critical ones in the struggle.

Matar said: "We are winning and we are holding on with a government that apparently does not know what to do, praise G-d. They understand," she added, "that there are no deals here, no 'kombinot', no Gush Katif. I believe that the feel the public support for Peace House."

Ben Eliezer: Use 'Unprecedented Force' in Hevron

(IsraelNN.com) Infrastructures Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer said Wednesday that security forces should use "unprecedented force" against Jews in Hevron. Jews who break the law "should each be locked up in jail for 15 years', he said.

Violence by nationalist activists, he claimed in an interview on Army Radio, "is leading to the murder of Jews." He called the people engaged in the clashes with police "a handful of people who shamelessly besmirch and sully an entire populace."

Tapuach Junction Blocked, Two Arrested

(IsraelNN.com) About 100 protestors blocked Arab traffic from passing through Tapuach Junction Wednesday evening, in protest of the planned eviction from Peace House in Hevron. Security forces arrested two demonstrators whom they suspect of burning tires. The demonstration is ongoing.A similar event occurred Tuesday evening. Two protestors were arrested then, too, but were released after the Regional Council Head Gershon Mesika interceded.

Gush Katif Evictees Blocking Nitzan Junction

(IsraelNN.com) Dozens of former residents of Gush Katif who were evicted in the Expulsion blocked the Nitzan Junction intermittently Wednesday evening, in protest of the planned eviction from Peace House.

There was heavy traffic congestion around the junction as a result but many drivers honked in agreement.

The demonstrators were resettled in Nitzan after the Expulsion.

MK Ariel Enters Peace House

(IsraelNN.com) MK Uri Ariel (The Jewish Home) entered Peace House in Hevron Wednesday evening and is joining the hundreds of people inside it.

Ariel called upon the public to come to join the struggle to save Peace House.

20 Shapira House Youths Being Interrogated

(IsraelNN.com) Hevron Police are interrogating 20 youths who were arrested after they entered Shapira House in the biblical city Wednesday.

Voice of Israel Radio reported that hundreds of nationalist activists blocked the road to the Cave of Patriarchs with rocks to protest the youths' arrest.

Police used stun grenades against these protesters and cleared the road.

Weiss: Yesha Council Lost Its Right to Lead

(IsraelNN.com) Peace House leader Daniela Weiss said Wednesday that the Yesha Council "lost it right to lead since the cooperation with the government during the eviction from Gush Katif and northern Samaria."

She accused the Yesha Council members of "amassing great economic power with the government's sponsorship," and said that "for this reason, they are afraid and refuse to let go of the government's udders."

She was reacting to sharp criticism leveled at her by Yesha Council head Danny Dayan.

PA Officials: Hevron Jews Could Cause Big Explosion

(IsraelNN.com) The Palestinian Authority on Wednesday called on the Israeli government to evict all the Jews from Hevron and warned that the growing tensions in the city could erupt into an all-out confrontation.

In a message to the members of the Quartet, Abbas condemned supposed assaults against Arabs as a 'despicable crime' against innocent civilians and demanded that the international community exert pressure on Israel to remove the Jews from the city.

"The presence of the Jewish settlers in the city is a serious provocation," the PA officials said. "Unless the [Israeli] government removes them from the city, there will be a big explosion."

6 More Hurt as Police Use Tear Gas, Stun Grenades

(IsraelNN.com) Six more Land of Israel activists were hurt Wednesday evening as police lobbed stun grenades and tear gas canisters at Jews who tried to cross roadblocks and make their way to Hevron's Peace House.

According to sources in Hevron two of the injured are children who inhaled tear gas.

Eight people were reported hurt when police used tear gas and stun grenades earlier in the day.

Peace House 'Closed Military Zone', 8 Arrested

(IsraelNN.com) 'Peace House' in Hevron has been declared a closed military zone and 8 Land of Israel activists have been arrested by police near the house.The heads of the Yesha Council have been in contact with the Defense Minister's bureau since Tuesday evening and according the council, a meeting between the sides is expected to take place within the next 24 hours in an attempt to prevent the expulsion of the Jews of Peace House.

Highway 60 Blocked

(IsraelNN.com) Traffic on Highway 60 in Judea has been blocked between Gush Etzion Junction and Karmei Tzur.The cause of the traffic stoppage has not been reported.

Marzel: Peace House Can Set Middle East Ablaze

(IsraelNN.com) Hevron resident Baruch Marzel of the Judean Front warned Wednesday that a confrontation in Peace House could "set the entire region and the entire Middle East ablaze."Marzel said that the government is to blame for escalating tensions in Hevron because it is creating provocations. "We are in the middle of a battle," Marzel added.
