(IsraelNN.com) The Legal Forum for the Land of Israel has asked the Supreme Court to schedule an urgent hearing to discuss former Justice Minister Chaim Ramon. The forum objects to Ramon’s recent appointment as Vice Prime Minister. Ramon was forced to leave his earlier position after he was convicted of forcibly kissing a female soldier, but was not prohibited from serving in the government.
Attorney Yossi Fuchs explained that Ramon’s continued presence in the government was highly damaging to the public trust, and especially to the public’s belief in the legal system. The state attorney’s office announced that it did not object to the hearing, but would leave the final decision to the Supreme Court.
