Police to Evict 30 Yemeni Families

http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/Flash.aspx/130243

(IsraelNN.com) 30 families living in the Kfar Shalem neighborhood of Tel Aviv are expected to be evicted from their homes on Thursday after a local court ruled that the police must carry out the eviction order by Friday. The Supreme Court ruled that the families may not appeal the lower court’s decision.

The families were ordered out by the Israel Lands Administration, which says the land they live on is privately owned. The ILA has expressed interest in selling the land to private entrepreneurs. Those currently living in Kfar Shalem, most of whom have lived there since immigrating to Israel from Yemen almost 60 years ago, will not receive compensation.
