(IsraelNN.com) Israel has expelled a pastor and his wife on suspicions of conducting missionary activity, which is outlawed. Evangelical pastor Ron Cantrell and his wife Carol have been living in the country for almost 20 years and were ordered to leave after they requested permanent residency. Cantrell worked for the Bridges for Peace evangelical group and ran the Shalom Shalom Jerusalem ministry.
However, two of the couple's children have married Israeli citizens and hold Israeli citizenship. Authorities rejected Cantrell's claims that he only collected money for the Bridges for Peace group, of which he worked. The organization operates social projects for new immigrants, particularly those from the former Soviet Union.
One of the publications that Bridges for Peace sells is Jesus the Jewish Theologian.
