(IsraelNN.com) Labor Knesset member Eitan Cabel urged the IDF top brass to initiate legal action against the soldiers who refused to participate in the expulsion of two families from their Hevron homes set for Monday night. "You can't have it your own way in the IDF," said Cabel. "The army decides which missions and orders must be carried out, with the exception of illegal orders," he added.
The soldiers balked when they were told just before boarding a bus Monday morning that they would have to forcibly expel the Hevron families, including 14 children, as part of their regular operations in Judea and Samaria.
"I expect the military to deal with the refuseniks to the full extent of the law," said Cabel.
Refusal is an integral aspect of democracy. The refusal of these soldiers are what is necessary to defend Israeli democracy and return the moral fabric to Israeli society and army.
