Barak to Bar Ilan U.: Fire Prof. Weiss

B”H

Will Barak do this with the liberal and arab professors who are spouting hatred and rhetoric against Israel every day in their “Peace Now” Nazi clubs and their hate filled editorials in the papers? What about the arab professors who scream “Jihad” from their lecturns???

Will he go to every political rally where they are speaking to police and IDF men and listen to what those liberals say against our Zionist Patriots in Yesha?

This is disgusting. Barak had should either shut his mouth, or be prepared to gag every professor in Israel!
Believe me, he is in for more of a fight than he can know. Every professor, no matter their political affiliation, will fear this witch hunt and will come out against Barak. Censorship of academics is a very serious matter, Barak. Barak is unarmed in this battle of wits. He had better back down now.

Defense Minister Ehud Barak on Friday demanded that Bar Ilan University President Professor Moshe Kave terminate the employment of Prof. Hillel Weiss until the Hebrew literature professor publicly denounced the controversial remarks he made about an IDF colonel during the Hebron evacuation, Israel Radio reported.

"I am gladdened by Bar Ilan University's condemnation of Professor Weiss's scandalous behavior," Barak said in a letter to Prof. Kave. "[However], a verbal condemnation is insufficient considering the severity of [Weiss's] castigation of an IDF officer," he added.

According to the report, Barak said that it was necessary to divest Weiss of his "social-educational" status for "crossing all of the red lines and rampantly inciting against the country's basic values."

Yesterday it was reported that the controversial professor will be investigated by police on incitement charges after he verbally attacked Hebron Brigade commander Col. Yehuda Fuchs in a videotaped interview on Wednesday during the evacuation of his daughter, son-in-law and six grandchildren from the Hebron wholesale market along with another settler family.

Weiss, who was seen by reporters talking to Fuchs privately during the evacuation, was asked by a Ynet reporter what he had told the IDF commander. "I said I hope his mother is bereaved, his wife is widowed and his children are made orphans," said Weiss before the news camera. "And I told him that I hope my grandchildren will take revenge against him and against all Jewish scum like him."
